I thought my readers might enjoy the press release about the remarkable sailing achievements of Jean-Luc Van Den Heede, this year’s recipient of the Cruising Club of America’s highest honor, the Blue Water Medal. (I ghost-wrote the release 😉)

I sure did! She’s amazing! She was the 2013 winner of the Blue Water Medal when she completed her first nonstop solo circumnavigation. The CCA also awarded her the Special Recognition Award this year in honor of her latest accomplishment! 🙂
Where is the muskox in so much grass! Picture taken?
You’re talking about one of the rotating header pictures? That was taken on the Seward Peninsula that forms the Alaskan side of the Bering Strait. There’s a pretty big herd of musk-oxen outside Nome, AK.
Ellen, well researched and masterfully written!
Thanks so much!! And isn’t he just an incredible sailor?? Takes a whole lot of stamina and inner peace to do what he does out there alone for so long the ocean…
Indeed!!!
Well done and interesting, Ellen.
Thank you, Caroline!
